Three Ways to Improve the Economy

If I know one thing it’s that the economy is bad. And it doesn’t seem to be getting any better. Aside from just throwing money at people, there have got to be some better ideas for improving this economy, which in the end means there have got to be some better ideas for creating more jobs and more wealth in this country for all of the normal people out there. Here are a couple of ideas I have.

First things first, we’ve got to open up the coffers a little to allow small business to get funding more easily. There are a lot of people out there who would love to expand and add a couple of more people, maybe even another division to their business, but they don’t have the money to fund the transition period. Providing that money would help a bunch.

For example, I know a guy, he’s an expungement lawyer. Now, this guy is a good guy. He works hard. He’s got a small business. Now, he’s got dreams of expanding and adding staff, but he doesn’t have the capital to put together a suitable office space for everyone. He can’t get the money for it from the banks. I guess he’s just going to be out of luck.

Second, we’ve got to find some way to teach people a new set of skills so they can work and function in today’s economic makeup. Gone are the days when manufacturing jobs ruled. These days you’ve got to have a special set of skills to get ahead. Look at my expungement attorney buddy. He’s not making cars in Detroit, he’s using what he learned to get out there and start a business. We need to teach and empower others to do the same thing.

Third, and finally, our government leaders have got to stop all this bickering, sit down together, and figure out a way to get out of this situation. Let me put it to you this way, when my expungement attorney buddy calls the prosecutor and tells them his client wants to get his conviction deleted from his record, there is often a moment’s hesitation from the prosecutor. Often they know nothing about the specific case, their gut reaction is to simply say no because someone they oppose is asking for someone. Typically, however, once the prosecutor finds out about the case, an agreement can be reached, despite everyone’s feelings toward everyone else.

This same things needs to happen in Washington. Stop bickering, get the banks to fork over some money, and teach people new skills. Do that, and the economy will be back on track in no time.
