Collars That Can Be Used For Puppy Leash Training

When doing puppy leash training, one of the aspects that needs to be looked at is the collar. Special collars are available, but it should be emphasised that these are not a necessity. When fitting the collar around your puppy’s neck, it is important to make sure that it is not too tight. The collar must fit snugly, but you should still be able to fit one or two fingers between the collar and the puppy’s neck. If the collar is fitted in this way, it will be comfortable for the puppy, and at the same time not restrict breathing, eating, or drinking.

This chain pulls tighter around the neck the harder the dog pulls, effectively restraining the dog by choking it. There is, however, quite some controversy around using choke chains, as they do pose the danger of hurting, or even permanently damaging, the throat of the dog.
