There comes a time in every man’s life when he has to give up old habits and move on with the times. That’s right, I am going to buy a Kindle 3.

It seems like every man and his Dog is getting one, and I am too. Not just to keep up with the neighbors, mind you. The fact is that I have finally come to the conclusion that they are simply so damn groovy and useful that it would be daft not to buy one.

The prices for the Kindle have come down so much recently that I simply can’t see myself not taking advantage of this and buying the new Kindle 3G. The only decision I have to make is if I will get just the 3G or the Kindle 3G and wifi option.

I think it is probably best to go for the wifi, as then I can use it absolutely anywhere I want rather than just relying on the 3G signal.

Being an avid book reader, I really do think that getting a new kindle is the best overall option. It is certainly going to pay for itself rather quickly. Savings on having to buy a new bookcase for the many books I always seem to buy makes it a sensible decision. And the fact that all the books I will get for my new kindle will also be backed up online really is great news. I know then that I will never lose them if I happen to do something to my Kindle.

With so many books available (I forget the number, but it is over a million), I really can’t see that I will ever have to buy a paperback again. But what I really love is the fact that there are over 1.8 million free books that no longer have copyright so I can get all of them for nothing. Brilliant, and another reason why I am going to buy the Kindle 3.
