LCD TV Stand Designs
The entire shape of televisions has changed in the last fifteen years or so. The introduction of LCD TV, instead of bulky CRT televisions has not only changed the way televisions look, but has brought a serious need to reconstruct our entertainment-center furniture. Prior to this we had to consider not only the diagonal measurement of the television, but the space needed to put it on some sort of stand. CRT tubes are very thick, some nearly two feet and more. LCD televisions are at most a few inches thick. If you are using an old television stand you will have a great deal of wasted space behind the television.
There are a couple of solutions to this and both require you to find a true LCD TV stand. An LCD TV stand is designed to make all of the space available, even the space behind the television. The first thing to consider is whether or not you need the height of the stand to be adjustable. Adjustable LCD stand designs can be set for elevations between three and five feet. If you need a higher elevation it is better to use either a wall mount or ceiling mount. Make sure you check the weight capability of the stand also. If you decide to use a plasma screen, they are usually very heavy, so the stand you choose should be able to support the weight. Also, if you plan to move your television around the room or even the house, you should buy one with wheels.
It pays to know in advance exactly what style and size LCD television you will be using with your LCD TV stand. If you shop around at your local furniture stores, department and electronic equipment stores, etc. you will find the perfect stand for your needs.
